Omar Sortijas is a prolific producer and a force behind some of the biggest hits in cinema and television in the recent years. His career in filmmaking is marked with credits in numerous roles, such as casting director for Barber’s Tales (2013), Anino sa likod ng buwan (2015) and Assistant Director role in drama and horror films such as My Neighbor’s Wife and Kulam He was also the Program Manager for TV5’s #ParangNormal Activity and later served as executive producer in the network’s Wattpad Presents series and Soap Opera Confessions of a Torpe.

He continued his work on the big screen as Supervising and Line Producer in the blockbuster hits Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes, My Fairytail Lovestory, Mr and Mrs. Cruz to name a few. He is also behind acclaimed drama films such as Kung Paano Hinihintay Ang Dapithapon which won Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production design and Netpac award in Cinemalaya 2018 and Die Beautiful, which won multiple awards in the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, the 40th Gawad Urian Awards, and the 33rd PMPC Star Awards for Movies and Tokyo International Film Festival.

More recently, he was the executive producer for the TV series Hiram na Anak, as well as a producer in the film Clarita, which won Best Director in the 2019 Fantasporto International Film Festival and the Mirabile Dictu International Film Festival. His latest project, U-Turn, stars Kim Chiu, JM de Guzman, and Tony Labrusca.
